Well here it is - the Autumn Program for Stoke 2008. This slightly slimmed-down version is the product of much discussion, consultation and national and international communication, and tailored as it is to your educational needs, the final product looks brilliant!
Following on from our very successful “Meet the Cardiologists” and “Meet the Paediatricians” we have a “Meet the Gynecologists” lecturettes session to update us in all areas of that domain. In a similar vein have a whirlwind (and comprehensive!) update on Laboratory Medicine and services; both of these are a total “must” for all practicing doctors and nurses! International updates on the Neurology of sleep and Caring for the Elderly will be of the highest calibre and full of pearls, while a welcome return for the ever-popular Kevin Jones (Respiratory Medicine) to give the Christmas Lecture, and a timely update on cardiovascular medicine complete the picture.
As you know, the only financial support for our meetings comes from the sponsoring pharmaceutical Companies, which sadly continues to decline, so please do show your thanks by speaking with the Reps at their stands with your customary courtesy!
We have had a wonderful 14 years of post-graduate education together, the envy of centres throughout the country and hosting some of the most prestigious doctors on the planet. Sadly, it is looking like this is very likely to be our last term; let’s make it a wonderful ending to a glorious era of medicine.
